Case studies

Expertise you can explore.

I build products around problems I see in the work around me. WhatsTheDx, OptoConnections, and OptoLearn are three examples: a daily challenge, a focused study resource, and a tool for training a team. Here are the decisions behind them and the lessons you can use in your own build.

Product case studies

Useful ideas. Working products.

A daily challenge, a paid study resource, and a training tool for a practice team. Each project shows how a specific need can become a product people can use.

Traction reported by Pretectal's founder, October 2, 2026. The WhatsTheDx figure counts sign-ups; OptoConnections usage is qualitative. Each case study explains the evidence behind it.

The common thread is a useful problem.

My goal is to create efficient products that help the people and teams around me. That starts with understanding a task, choosing a manageable first version, and making the full experience work. AI is part of how I approach building; the product still needs clear decisions, thoughtful review, and feedback from real people.

Each case study pairs the implemented product with the evidence available today and a suggested exercise for your own AI-assisted prototype. Follow the getting-started guide to write a useful brief, choose tools for the task, and check what you build.

How my building workflow has evolved

I started building MVPs with Lovable, Cursor, and Windsurf. Today, I use Claude Code and ChatGPT Astra with skills. That is the shared evolution of my work across these projects; each case study focuses on the product decisions and evidence you can inspect.
